YARD RULES:
1. Play safely and avoid rough and dangerous games.
2. Stay in the playground at break-time.
3. Be considerate and respectful of others.
4. Lunches should be consumed in the classroom.
5. Any injuries or incidents of bullying should be reported to the teacher on duty.
6. Response to the bell should be quick and orderly.
7. If rain stops play, all pupils will proceed to the shed and in the interest of safety will walk.
8. Follow instructions.

1. Be on time. Punctuality and attendance are the responsibility of parents and pupils.
2. Pupils who are absent or late must have a note from their parents/guardians stating the cause. A note is also required if a pupil has to leave the school during the day.
3. Full correct uniform (including black shoes) must be worn. Tracksuit is to be worn on P.E. Day.
4. Chewing gum is strictly forbidden.
5. On entering the school premises mobile phones must be switched off.
6. Pupils should behave in an orderly manner in the classroom,
on the corridor and when entering or exiting the building.
7. Pupils should have all necessary books and materials for class every day. Children will need parents help for doing this.
8. Pupils should show respect for themselves, fellow pupils, teachers and all visitors to the school.
9. Pupils must respect all school property and keep the school environment clean and litter-free.
10. If a library book or other school materials are lost or damaged, the full replacement cost must be paid.
11. Pupils are expected to be well behaved particularly coming to and going home from school on public transport.
12. Conduct at bus stops in shops and on school outings should be a credit to both home and school.
Health and Hygiene
1. It is necessary to inform the school of any health issue which may affect the child or other children in school.
2. For health and safety reasons earrings are not allowed.
3. The school lunch policy must be adhered to at all times.
Rewards for Good Behaviour
01. Give the pupil private/public praise.
02. Certificates or merit awards e.g. Student of the Month, or weekly class certificates.
03. Blue Card sent home to parents.
04. Specially written letter home.
05. Good phone call home.
06. Send the pupil to partner teacher/senior member of staff for praise.

Sanctions for Misbehaviour

08. Suspension.
09. In the case of very serious or gross misbehaviour the principal will be summoned.
10. Individual behaviour plans will be drawn up, as needed, for pupils with particular difficulties.
11. Where the Principal forms a view, based on the investigation of an alleged misbehaviour, that expulsion may be warranted, the Principal will make a recommendation to the Board of Management to consider expulsion. The Board of Management may expel a pupil, following a hearing; deliberations; and consultations arranged by the Educational Welfare Officer.
