Young Engineer’s Award
Let’s take a trip down memory lane at some of the wonderful projects the boys did during the year. 3rd and 4th class took part in the Young Engineer’s Award in November. In small groups, they each identified a problem and designed and created a solution.
Our class came up with a device to catch and crush plastic polluting our oceans, a talking bin that tells you which bin your waste should go in, a self-heating rainjacket to keep the homeless warm, and a foldable wheelchair ramp to make our school more accessible.
They gave fabulous presentations to Alicia, our engineer from Engineers Ireland and worked hard in teams to achieve their goal.
